Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman is a gold-medal-winning Olympic gymnast who steered team U.S. team to victories in 2012 and the year 2016. She has won six Olympic medals, all in all and was part of two gold medal-winning World Championships teams. Aly is from Needham located in Massachusetts. Her love for the sport of gymnastics is traceable to an 18-month-old "mommy with me" class. Aly Raisman is a proponent for body positivity and is an inspiration both on the floor and off, and she spoke against Larry Nassar during his sentencing hearing. Aly Raisman was born in 1994 and began her athletic career very early in her age. She played a role in helping to help the U.S. Gymnastics Team win the 2011 World Championships. After that she took home two gold medals -- one in the team competition, and the other in the individual floor exercise--and a bronze medal for the beam during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. In 2016, Raisman returned to Rio for the Olympics in Rio she won silver medals in the single all-around final, as well as the floor exercise and gold in the women's gymnastics team competition. Raisman was the subject of a scandalous revelation in the year 2017. The athlete had been victimized sexually by the team doctor Larry Nassar. In the subsequent year, Raisman sued USA Gymnastics.
